Weaving With NW Plant Fibers – Classes at BARN

I am happy to let you know that the Bainbridge Artisans Resource Network, or BARN has some wonderful teachers offering to share their skills.

June 17, Saturday, Nancy Sigo will teach a “NW Coast Cedar Basket” workshop.

July 8 + 9, Sue Skelly will teach how to make a “4 Foot Cedar Garden Spire with Finial” in a two day workshop.

August 5 + 6, Polly Adams Sutton with offer a “Sculptural Twining in NW Naturals” workshop, with a Friday evening presentation on August 4, at 6:30.

About Melinda

Thirty years ago, while sitting on the beach playing with my young children, I made my first basket out of a pile of willow trimmings someone had tossed there. The experience of weaving with the materials at hand while being together with my sons on a beautiful Pacific Northwest shoreline, kindled a passion for creating art from natural plant materials. I thank my family, my community, and all my teachers for cultivating this gift in me.
